The Taliban has shut down the internet in Panjshir to prevent the acting President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh from tweeting.

Acting President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh has stayed put in Panjshir after Kabul fell to the Taliban.

From Panjshir, he is posting updates about the resistance to the Taliban on Twitter.

After Kabul fell to the Taliban on August 15 and President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, then Vice-President Amrullah Saleh posted on Twitter “Clarity: As per d constitution of Afg, in absence, escape, resignation or death of the President the FVP becomes the caretaker President. I am currently inside my country & am the legitimate care taker President. Am reaching out to all leaders to secure their support & consensus.”

He has been continuously posting about how Pakistan has been using the Taliban to destroy Afghanistan.

On August 1, he posted on Twitter “Once again speaking on behalf of Taliban terrorists, the strategic proxy of his country in Afg & the region, FM Qureshi is louder. But can he explain where does he get his confidence. When was the latest meeting  of GHQ with Quetta Shura & HQN ?”

After the suicide blast at the Kabul airport, President Saleh tweeted “Every evidence we have in hand shows that IS-K cells have their roots in Talibs & Haqqani network particularly the ones operating in Kabul. Talibs denying links with ISIS is identical/similar to denial of Pak on Quetta Shura. Talibs hv leanred vry well from the master.”

For a long time, he has been very vocal on Twitter about the role of ISI and Pakistan Army in destabilising Afghanistan.
