‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Slogans Raised in Muharram Procession in Ujjain

The participants also raised anti-national slogans. The police have booked at least 10 people for treason for raising these slogans.

 

The Madhya Pradesh police on Thursday evening (August 19) booked at least 10 people for treason when anti-national and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised in a Muharram procession in Ujjain district.

 

The particular incident had taken place at Gita colony under the limits of Jiwajiganj police station in Ujjain late evening on Thursday (August 19). The crowd, which had gathered for the Muharram procession although, in light of the Covid-19, the police permission for the procession was denied and some youths started raising anti-India slogans.

 

The crowd also raised Pro-Pakistan (Pakistan Zindabad) slogans.

 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that no Talibani mindset or anti-India activity will be allowed to flourish and it would be crushed.

 

Ujjain Superintendent of Police Satyendra Kaushal said four people have been arrested so far and police are also analysing videos to identify people who were raising pro-Pakistan slogans.

 

The police also said that keeping in mind the Covid-19 situation, the permission for the Muharram procession was not granted.
