Union Minister of Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will carry the programme, and during the three-day journey, he will be covering over 300 kilometres by road.
Imphal: Newly inducted union minister from Manipur Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, popularly known as R K Ranjan, Starts his Jana Ashirwad Yatra from Mao gate in Manipur. As per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the new ministers inducted into the union ministry will meet people in their respective states as part of the yatra. The outreach programme started at 9 am from Mao gate in Nagaland-Manipur border on Tuesday (August 17).
Union Minister of Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will carry the programme, and during the three-day journey, he will be covering over 300 kilometres by road.
Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi told the media that the activity would be the first time in the political history of Manipur that a union minister will be doing a road rally in the state covering over 300 kilometres in continuous three days.
She further stated that the yatra on the first day would cover about 116 km from Mao gate to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat office located at Babupara.
The union minister will meet the people along the way towards Imphal. She added that he would meet various people and the various stop points, including the COVID vaccination centres of Senapati, Kangpokpi and others.
She further said that the second of the journey will be resumed from Singjamei Bridge and will destine to Moreh, about 110 km. And the last and third day of the journey will start from Utlou and will destine to Churachandpur,
covering about 128 km.
During the journey, the union minister will meet the people personally and monitor the problems and grievances faced by them amid the pandemic. Moreover, he will be meeting the family members who had been martyred during the Kargil war, the BJP state president said.
On the other hand, Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will start the Jana Ashirwad yatra in Guwahati on 21st August. The former chief minister of Assam will be covering nearly 450 kilometres in his yatra from Guwahati to Dibrugarh.
