Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visits Kerala to review Covid-19 situation

As Kerala continues to report a surge in Covid cases, the Central team headed by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, reached the state today to take stock of the situation. The Union Minister will hold talks with Chief Minister, State Health Minister and other senior officials.

 

Mandaviya will also visit Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram to assess the Covid-care facilities.

 

The Union Health Minister is visiting Kerala at a time when the State has been recording a steady case load of 18-22,000 cases daily since the past two weeks, accounting for 50% of the new cases and around 47% of the total active cases in the country 

 

Meanwhile 18,582 new Covid positive cases were confirmed in the State yesterday. The Test Positivity Rate stands at 15.11%. Presently over 1,78,000 active covid cases are there in Kerala.
