The Canadian government has decided in view of the Taliban atrocities in Afghanistan and has made special provisions for the immigration of Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan.

Canada has announced special measures for the immigration of Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan. The decision has been taken in light of the Taliban atrocities in Afghanistan.

“Canada has signed an MOU with Manmeet Singh Bhullar Foundation to resettle a group of vulnerable Afghan Sikh &Hindu families out of Afghanistan. Over next several months, we'll expand this programme to resettle several hundred remaining Sikhs & Hindus: Canadian Def Min Harjit Sajjan” posted ANI on microblogging platform Twitter.

Quoting Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Marco Mendicino, ANI posted, “Canada will build on its earlier special immigration programme to welcome over 20,000 vulnerable Afghan refugees. Our efforts will focus on those who are particularly vulnerable, including women leaders.”

It added, “Canada is expeditiously carrying out special resettlement operations to evacuate Afghan nationals who provided critical support to the Canadian mission. Many more Afghan lives are now under increasing threat & many have already fled.”

The Taliban has captured 13 of the 34 Afghan provinces and is rapidly moving towards Kabul.

The Hindu and Sikh minorities are especially vulnerable, as the Taliban considers them ‘Kafirs’ who are unfit to live in this world.

The Justin Trudeau government of Canada has tacitly supported the anti-CAA protests in the country.
