Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India’s service export is witnessing tremendous growth. He said, total service exports has increased 12 times in the span of 20 years.

While addressing the second Indo-US Services Summit today, Mr. Goyal said, total service export from India to the world was 17 billion US dollar in 2001 and it has now leapfrogged to 205 US billion dollar in 2020-21. He said, India’s services with its competitive advantage powered by skills, startups and software solutions will help in ramping up employment and business opportunities.

Mr. Goyal said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is spearheading the mission of making India self reliant. He said, India has met all its service commitments across the world even during the challenging times of the pandemic. He added that services sectors will be more resilient, reliable, robust and it will be at the forefront of economic recovery in a post-Covid world. He said, India is also rapidly progressing to become one of the world’s largest digital markets.
