Basavaraj Bommai sworn-in as the 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka

CM Bommai will hold a meeting with senior officers to review COVID-19 and the flood situation in the state today.

Basavaraj Somappa Bommai on Wednesday (July 28) was sworn as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. 

 

Greeting the new CM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Bommai brings with him rich legislative and administrative experience. “I am confident he will build on the exceptional work done by our Govt in the state. Best wishes for a fruitful tenure,” he added.

 

The PM also thanked BS Yediyurappa, saying “no words will ever do justice to monumental contribution” made by him towards the BJP and for Karnataka’s growth.

 

“For decades, he toiled hard, traveled across all parts of Karnataka, and struck a chord with people. He is admired for his commitment to social welfare,” PM Modi said.

CM Bommai will hold a meeting with senior officers to review COVID-19 and the flood situation in the state today.

Speaking to ANI, he said, “I will chair a meeting of the Cabinet later today. After that, I will hold a meeting with senior officers to review COVID-19 and the flood situation in the state.”
