Guwahati: The RSS chief will inaugurate a book titled ‘Citizenship Debate over NRC & CAA: Assam and the Politics of History’ at Shrimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra in the presence of many distinguished personalities.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat is visiting Assam today to grace a session of RSS Asom Kshetra to be held at Sewabharati Janajati Chatravas in Adinggiri area of Maligaon locality inside the city during the afternoon hours.
 
The two-day session organized on 20-21 July will be following all the necessary Covid-19 protocols. It will have the participation of several senior RSS Adhikaris, Karyakarinis of Asom Kshetra, along with various responsible RSS Praanta Pracharak, Praanta Karyabah, and their deputies from its north Assam, south Assam, Arunachal Praanta, Manipur Praanta, and Tripura Praanta.
 

Tomorrow morning (11 am), the RSS chief will inaugurate a book titled ‘Citizenship Debate over NRC & CAA: Assam and the Politics of History’ at Shrimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra in the presence of many distinguished personalities. Assam chief minister. Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Gauhati University vice-chancellor Prof PJ Handique will also share the dais

with Sarsanghchalak. Dr. Bhagwat.
 
Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta, the author of the book, published by Sage International in the international category, expressed gratitude to Dr. Bhagwat for their gracious presence on occasion before his departure to Chennai on 22 July. Prof Mahanta, who teaches at Gauhati University, expects an informed debate on the issues raised in the book.
 

“The monograph is a historical analysis of politics of identity, immigration, NRC and CAA in Assam,” said Prof Mahanta, while speaking to this correspondent, adding that it is a product of research works for the last few years. One of its most important features would be massive archival sources collected from different parts of Bharat, he concluded.
