In another shocking case of Love Jihad, one Arfin Shah from Udhampur in Jammu deceivingly married Nikita Saini and later asked her to marry his father.
Nikita narrated her plight in an interview.
Arfin, a school friend of Nikita, who worked in a hospital, approached her for his mother’s treatment. She has been suffering from cancer since 2007.
After getting to know that Nikita had divorced her husband, Arfin proposed to her in January this year and convinced her she should get married for social security.
Arfin got her marriage certificate in the name of Nafeeza. When she objected, she was convinced that it was only a paper formality.
A few days after the marriage, Arfin’s family proposed that Nikita should marry Arfin’s father as Arfin’s mother could not establish a sexual relationship with her husband because of cancer.
She was suggested that this arrangement would ensure that she would remain in the family and no outsider would get to know about it.
Also, she got to know that Arfin was already married. This shocked her beyond belief. She realized it was all a trap from the very beginning.
Arfin's family runs an NGO in Udhampur and is now threatening her into submission.
After her many visits to the police station failed, she wrote to J&K LG Manoj Sinha requesting help.
