The Sangh has expressed condolences over the death of renowned neurologist and Padma Shri recipient Dr Ashok Panagariya. Dr Panagariya, a septuagenarian, recently died of post-Covid complications. He was on ventilator support for the past several days at a private hospital in Jaipur.
This braveheart, who had the will to survive left for his heavenly abode as his condition deteriorated. Dr Panagariya played an important role in Rajasthan as a medical expert during the coronavirus pandemic. He was a vice chancellor of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur. In his condolence message, National Swayamsevak North West Rajasthan, Dr. Ramesh Agarwal said the sudden death of Dr Ashok Panagariya has hurt the feelings of RSS members who held him in high esteem.
Expressing grief over his sudden death, the Sangh has acknowledged Dr Panagariya’s contribution in enriching society. His work in the medical field that will benefit generations of doctors and researchers and his keen interest in cultural aspects of Indian society was widely appreciated. He has left great impact in medical education and neuro-care in rural areas.
He was a source of inspiration for the people irrespective of their professional and economic background. All his life, Dr Panagariya has been associated with top RSS leaders who often consulted him. He has been working for the Sangh for the past 15 to 20 years. His laudable work in social welfare was remembered as he would come out of his comfort zone to work for the marginalised and downtrodden.
