Security forces gunned down a female Naxalite in a violent clash that happened near Chand Meta Pyarbhat village of Bastar.

One AK-47 rifle and two pistols have been recovered from the slain female terrorist.

A huge cache of materials used in Naxalite camps were also recovered near the encounter site.

Later, the deceased terrorist has been identified as vaiko pekko{24}a native of bhairamgarh bijapur district.

She had been involved in many attacks on security forces and was carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on her head.

She was an active member of (PLGA)People Liberation Guerilla Army Platoon no 16.

IG P Sundararajan of Bastar Division told that the slain Naxal terrorist had links with Darbha Division which has been instrumental in carrying out several deadly attacks in Bastar.

The attack was carried out by the CRPF's 80th Battalion and DRG jawans from Bastar, Sukma, and Dantewada based on the intelligence reports.

It has been told that a search operation is still on in nearby areas.

In a similar incident, at least six Maoists were killed in an exchange of fire with a Greyhound special forces team in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday morning, including two ladies and two divisional committee members.

It is worth noting that operations against Naxalites have been stepped up in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh in recent days, with the consequence being reflected in the security forces' success.
