As a continuation of events that unfolded in Pathanapuram in Kerala after explosives were found from a dense forest area, gelatine sticks are now found from another district Pathanamthitta. Around 90 gelatine sticks have been found from Konni in the Pathanamthitta district.
Earlier, there were reports of an arms camp conducted by terrorists in Pathanapuram. Gelatine sticks and deteriorates were found in that place. Similar materials for explosives are also found now from Vayakkara, Kokkothodu in Konni. It needs to be noted that these places are near to the Hindu holy temple Sabarimala, which is a prime target in the hit-list of Islamic terrorist organizations as per India’s intelligence agencies.
Apparently, BJP state president K. Surendran also contested the recently concluded Kerala assembly election from the Konni assembly constituency. There were earlier reports of fundamentalist organizations trying to murder senior RSS-BJP leaders in Kerala.
There have been multiple reports of radical organizations conducting terror camps in various parts of Kerala. But the vote-bank politics had resisted the successive state governments from taking strong actions against the terrorists and the apologists in Kerala.
