In the Abdul Samad Saifi case of Ghaziabad, where it was claimed Saifi was beaten by a group of fanatics for not chanting Jai Shri Ram, it has emerged that the fight was about one tabeez.
Accused are Parvesh Gurjar, Arif, Aadil, and Mushahid.
The incident happened a week back and the police complaint was registered.
There was no cry about it. Suddenly, a week later another video emerges where Saifi claims he was thrashed for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
It became a national story.
Now, the investigation has revealed that adding the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ angle was an afterthought.
There are not one or two or three incidents where such things have happened but many.
In July 2019, a Muslim boy was burnt to death in a personal fight. As an afterthought, the victim’s family later added the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ angle claiming the boy was killed for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
Multiple sources proved there was no ‘Jai Shri Ram’ angle to the story.
On July 24, 2019, some celebrities had written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi claiming “‘Jai Shri Ram’ has become provocative ‘war cry’”.
On July 10, 2019, BBC did a story headlined “Jai Shri Ram: The Hindu chant that became a murder cry.”
Similarly, on many other occasions, attempts are made to associate ‘Jai Shri Ram’ with crimes.
