Guwahati: Senior BJP leader and Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the residences of two recently died legislators and interacted with the bereaved family members. CM Sarma conveyed his deep sympathy to them and offered floral tributes to the late legislators.
Visiting the residence Majendra Narzary, Sarma commented that the Gossaigaon MLA was a dedicated social worker and committed politician. He termed the death of Narzary, who tirelessly worked for the welfare of the people, and irreparable loss to society.
Later visiting the residence of Leho Ram Boro and offered floral tribute at the portrait of Tamulpur MLA. In presence of BTC chief Pramod Boro, Kokrajhar West legislator Rabiran Narzary, Kokrajhar East MLA Lawrence Islary and others, Sarma commented that Boro was a dedicated politician and dedicatedly worked for overall development of Tamulpur locality.
Meanwhile, reacting to the incident of two minor girls found hanging from a tree in a mysterious situation at Abhayakhuti in Kokrajhar district recently, Sarma, also in charge of State home portfolio, ordered an expeditious investigation to unearth the cause of their shocking deaths.
He visited the bereaved family lately and informed that the top police officials were asked to investigate the matter and book the culprits if it is proven as a planned murder. Interacting with the family members, Sarma conveyed his deep sympathy to them and assured that the government stands firmly by them at the time of distress.
