Akhilesh Yadav did it again. He questioned the effectiveness and safety of the various Covid-19 vaccines administered in the country.

Currently, two vaccines are administered on a mass scale, Serum Institute manufactured Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.

Russia-made Sputnik is also now available in the country.

More vaccines are in the pipeline.

Yadav tweeted, “Why is the government not publicly sharing data about the effectiveness & safety of the various vaccines? Transparent disclosure will help health care workers optimize uptake of the vaccine and provide greater comfort to Indian citizens when it comes to infections and mortality.”

The Yogi Adityanath government has set a target of one crore vaccinations in the state in the month of June under its “Mission June”.

It is not the first time Akhilesh has fueled vaccine hesitancy.

On January 2 this year, Akhilesh Yadav said in a press conference it was BJP’s vaccine and he wouldn’t take vaccine as he didn’t trust it.

The vaccination drive in the country started from January 16.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited more than 50 districts in 18 divisions of the state.

Since the chief minister’s home isolation ended on April 30, he is visiting all over the state to take stock of the situation.
