Maulana Mohammad Iliyas Rapes a 12-Year-Old Child Inside a Mosque in Delhi When She Had Gone to Drink Water

The Imam was arrested by the Delhi Police after conducting raids in Ghaziabad.
 
In a shocking incident, Maulana Mohammad Iliyas raped a 12-year-old child inside a mosque in Delhi when she had gone inside the mosque to drink water.
 
He also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told anybody about the incident.
 
The horrified child narrated the incident to her parents who rushed to the mosque.
 
But the Maulana Iliyas had fled the scene.
A PCR call was made.
 
After scanning the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas, police collected a photo of the accused and launched a manhunt.
 
He was arrested from his home in Loni in Ghaziabad. He is married and has four children.
 
He hails from Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
 
He has been booked under IPC sections for Rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
 
The child was counselled by a team of Delhi Commission for Women officials.
