Following the complaint filed by the Legal Rights Protection Forum (LRPF), the National Commission for  Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has directed the Telangana Chief Secretary to take action against Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWERIS) for Lockdown violation.

LRPF had complained to the NCPCR regarding the running of hostel and classes by TSWERIS for 300 minor children, in violation of Covid 19 lockdown norms. Dr. R.G. Anand, Member, NCPCR undertook a fact finding inspection visit of the premises located at Azad Engineering College Moinabad. Based on the report of Dr. Anand, Chairman, NCPCR has directed the Chief Secretary, Telangana government and Comm. of Police, Cyberabad to take appropriate action including lodging of FIR against the college management and other functionaries of TSWERIS who are responsible for conducting classes in violation of Covid 19 lockdown norms. TSWERIS is a govt run society headed by Dr. R.S.Praveen Kumar, IPS, which runs all the government social welfare schools/colleges and hostels.

LRPF, in its complaint had said, “During the conversation with local police of Moinabad Police Station it was revealed that even the Police Department have no information about the off-line classes being conducted at Azad Engineering College by gathering minor girls in large numbers, which is a serious security concern.”
