A Hindu priest’s body was found in a field in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh Monday morning.
The throat of the priest was cut open using some sharp weapon.
The police have sent the body for postmortem and are investigating the matter.
The priest, Ashok Kumar, 50, had come to work at the temple recently.
Two sadhus were murdered around the same time last year. Their blood-soaked body was discovered by the villagers.
Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh assured the police were looking into every angle of murder and the murderers would be arrested soon.
