PM Modi to get major briefings by Defence Ministry Secretaries at Kevadia Gujrat first time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will get major presentations by the five secretary-rank officials of the Defence Ministry during the Combined Commanders’ Conference to be held at Kevadia in Gujarat this week. This is the first time when the combined commander conference is taking place I Gujrat Kevadia.

Kevadia is a city of Sardar Patel and is located on the bank of the river Narmada. This town is famous for the world’s tallest statue of ” Louh Purush ” Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, the Statue of Unity with a hight of 182 meters. Sardar Patel was the First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Independent India.

As per Top defence officials, detailed presentations are being prepared by the Secretaries of the Department of Military Affairs, Department of Defence, Department of Defence Production, DRDO and Ex-servicemen welfare department.

The briefings by top officials would include the ongoing projects of their respective departments along with the future projects they would be undertaking, they said. All eyes would be on the briefing to be given by the DMA Secretary Gen Bipin Rawat who is the first officer to hold the post as the seniormost defence ministry official in the armed forces and civilian set up. His briefing is likely to include the development regarding the formation of new tri-services commands and the progress made in the existing structures.

During the event, presentations are expected to be given to the Prime Minister regarding the progress made in the field of the creation of theatre commands. As per plans, the Defence Ministry will be creating the Air Defence Command as the first step towards restructuring of defence forces in the country. The Combined Commanders’ Conference will be attended by the commander in chief rank officers of the three services which include 20 officers from different commands and formations from across the country.

As per sources Border issues with all neighbouring countries and China will be the key subject. PM Modi will also take a briefing about defence preparedness on both sensitive borders China and Pakistan. Progress and preparedness of Indigenous defence equipment under “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” policy will also be an important issue in this Combined Commander Meet on which PM Modi will focus.
