50. 77 lakh paddy farmers benefited from current Kharif Marketing Season Procurement Operations: Govt

Over 422 lakh tonnes of paddy have been procured from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pardesh, Maharashtra and Bihar.

Government has said that 50. 77 lakh paddy farmers have been benefited from current Kharif Marketing Season Procurement Operations with MSP value of over Rs. 79, 675 crore.
 
Agriculture Ministry said, over 422 lakh tonnes of paddy have been procured from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pardesh, Maharashtra and Bihar.
 
Out of the total purchase, Punjab alone has contributed more than 202 lakh tonnes, till the close of procurement season in the state on 30th November, which is 48.05 per cent of total procurement.
 
The Ministry said, approval was accorded for procurement of over 51 lakh tonnes of Pulse and Oilseeds of Kharif Marketing Season 2020 for the States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh under Price Support Scheme.
