New Delhi: While Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi highlighted the importance and the level of connectivity of the alumni of any academic institution in his latest “Mann ki Baat”, November 29, Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Sansthan, the largest voluntary educational institution of the world, secured a record the same day. Attached to it, the Vidya Bharati Purva Chhatra Parishad, its alumni association crossed the figure of 3.56,00,00 ex-students registered on its portal, and has become the world’s largest alumni association.
It is noteworthy that Vidya Bharati runs as many as 12,830 formal schools all across the country without taking any financial aid from the government and provides Bharat centric quality education, where more than one lakh teachers are shaping the life of 34,47,856 students. In addition, accepting the responsibility towards the weaker section of the society. Vidya Bharati also runs 11,353 schools in the rural, tribal and slum areas, which are informal free educational centres. Vidya Bharati has been engaged in this field since 1952.
Disseminating the above information, Shri Shree Ram Araokar, general secretary of Vidya Bharati told that thousands of Vidya Bharati alumni are working in various walks of life providing the best services to them and leading the society. The alumni associations active in different cities and villages swung into action during the corona pandemic, especially in the lockdown period to distribute masks, sanitiser, soaps, medicine and food packets and ration etc. The Vidya Bharti alumni working in the administrative services, judiciary and various government departments are reflecting their values in their work and behaviour which day on during their school days. At the same time, many of them have been associated with industrial business, the agricultural sector and many others providing valuable services to the society in religious, cultural, social and political organisations are bearing big responsibilities.
Shri Araokar said that the figure of 3.56 lakh is not limited to the record. The number is increasing day by day.
