Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Unveiling of a relief work
report of PPCR ‘Catalysing Collaborations’
 
The COVID-19 pandemic has cultivated confidence in the society. Commensurate with this sentiment, Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response (PPCR) has taken a lead role in initiating valuable work in this regard. Dr Mohan Bhagawatsaid for the development of the society, ‘we should cultivate a sense of service among people’.
 
Speaking on the occasion of release of an integrated report on the work initiated so far at different levels in Pune during the COVID-19 pandemic by PPCR, the RSS Sarsanghchalak said the report is a valuable guideline on how social work should be conducted. He congratulated all the citizens of Pune for undertaking such a massive work. “This is the first time after independence that people are getting united for fighting through the time of crisis. This kind of unity we saw in our country during the COVID-19 pandemic was nowhere seen in the world. The world came to know about our concept of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” during this crisis,” he said.
 
The Sarsanghchalak said employment, skill development,education and counselling were the new challenges before the community. “In the coming times, we need to focus on these issues,” he added. The Sarsanghchalak appealed the PPCR volunteers to continue their good work.
 
Shri Sudhir Mehta, Chairman of Maratha Chamber of Commerce and Chief Coordinator of PPCR, also spoke on the occasion. He said that PPCR has carried out this challenging task of fighting through the time of crisis with the unity of people and proper planning. This experience may be helpful to other cities in the country for dealing with social problems and challenges. PPCR is always in readiness for that help.
 
During this, Pradip Bhargava, Former MCCI President, Dr Dhananjay Kelkar of Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Shantilal Mutha of Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana, RashtriyaSwayamsevak Sangh, Tukaram Naik, President of JanakalyanSamiti, Milind Kamble, President of Dalit Chamber of Commerce and eminent Actor Girish Kulkarni narrated an Overview of the works done during the Corona Period.
 
As soon as the global epidemic of Corona disaster struck, in March, hundreds of people from various sectors such as Entrepreneurs, Doctors, Scientists, Educationists, Traders, Industrial Associations in the Pune Metropolis came together and formed the PPCR (Pune Platform for Covid-19 Response). It included more than 200 Private Hospitals, more than 10 different Government Departments and their officials, 10 Working Groups for the planning of various relief works. Through the efforts of all of them, more than Rs. 50 Crore has been provided for the Corona relief work in Pune Metropolis area! Through PPCR, the community has rendered great assistance to the Administration in the form of various charities for the community.
 
Also present at the ceremony were Dr Abhay Firodiya, SudhirMehta, Chairman of Maratha Chamber of Commerce, PradipBhargav, Ex-Chairman of MCCI, Dr Dhananjay Kelkar of Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Shantilal Muttha of BhartiyaJain Sanghatan, Chairman of Jankalyan Smiti, Tukaram Naik, Chairman of Dalit Chamber of Commerce, actor Girish Kulkarni.
