With the Chinese Communist Party increasing its stake in Corporate giants like Alibaba, Tencent and Hong Kong based companies, Government of India has banned 43 Chinese apps including AliExpress, AliSupplies Mobile App, Alipay Cashier and Lalamove.
“This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order”. Ministry of Electronics and information technology has issued the order for blocking the access of these apps by users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs” said the ministry in an official statement.
Ministry of Electronics and IT has tweeted that “Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI (@GoI_MeitY) issued an order today under section 69A of the Information Technology Act blocking access to 43 mobile apps in India”. India had earlier banned 59 mobile apps on June 29 and 118 apps on September 2 following the tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control.
It is a well-known fact that the founder of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma is a member of CCP. The recent intervention of CCP on the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Ant Group, owned by Jack Ma shows that the party has the final word in China’s private sector also.
