Vivekananda statue should teach us intense love for our country: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveils Swami Vivekananda’s statue at JNU

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a life-size statue of Swami Vivekananda at the campus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi on Thursday via video conferencing.
“May this statue inspire the country to move forward with the vision of youth-led development, which was Swamiji’s expectation. May this statue continue to inspire us to realise Swamiji’s dream of a strong and prosperous India,” he said after unveiling the statue.
The Prime Minister further said that may the statue teach everyone compassion and intense love for the country.
“May this statue teach us immense dedication for the nation, teach intense love for our country which is the highest message of Swamiji’s life. May this statue inspire the nation for the vision of oneness, which has been the inspiration of Swamiji’s thinking,” he added.
Earlier this morning, the Prime Minister had tweeted: “At 6:30 this evening, will unveil a statue of Swami Vivekananda at the JNU campus and share my thoughts on the occasion. The programme will be held via video conferencing. I look forward to the programme this evening.”
While quoting Swami Vivekananda’s address at the University of Michigan, PM Modi said, “21st century will be India’s. This statue captures that essence of India.”
“The country is moving forward with the aim of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” PM Modi said.
While addressing an event at the JNU campus to unveil a statue of Swami Vivekananda, Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal said, “Students who are taking an oath to follow in Swami Vivekananda’s footsteps will raise India’s stature across the world.”
“Our PM has given us a vision and a mission,” Minister Pokhriyal said. “This statue will usher in a new era in JNU’s history,” he added.
