The Real Conspiracy Exposed

But why do you refer to it as a mosque at all? Where is the mosque, my friends, when the namaz is not performed? When for forty years idol worship is going on there, what kind of a mosque is it? That is just the temple of our dear Ram.? That is not L K Advani talking to V P Singh. It is V P Singh talking to several RSS leaders.? ?Are Bhai Masjid Hai Hi Kahan? , Arun Shourie, The Indian Express, October 25, 1990

In a watershed judgment, Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court acquitted all the thirty-accused, including senior Bharatiya Janata Party Leaders, Lal Krishna Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and Kalyan Singh. Many other Saintly leaders associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement also got the sigh of relief after the twenty-eight years legal battle. The remarks of the Court on the shreds of evidence clearly show that there was a conspiracy to construct a conspiracy to target particular leaders.

The judgment has concluded that the CBI investigation has failed to produce any conclusive evidence to prove any connivance that led to the destruction of the disputed structure. All the allegations related to conspiracy, promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, and criminal conspiracy are found to be untrue. In the 2300 page judgment, ‘no documentary evidence to show that there was conspiracy or provocation to bring down the disputed structure’ is the broad conclusion. Despite all attempts to target Hindu leaders, the investigation could only prove that the mob destructed the structure spontaneously and all prominent leaders were trying to control them.

The Court elaborated the chain of events when the disputed structure was demolished, and it has observed that Ashok Singhal ji was found appealing everyone to return and maintain peace. It has observed further that RSS and VHP volunteers were looking after all arrangements while giving special attention to old, women, kids and media persons, proper parking and other arrangements were in place and running smoothly. The Court also refers to the intelligence report indicating efforts to vitiate the atmosphere by Pakistan.

Another critical remark made by the Court is shocking and unravels the real conspiracy behind this conspiracy theory. Court has observed that deposition by the Prosecution witnesses is contradictory everywhere. and none of the witnesses has taken the name of named accused. More importantly, Some forty-sevenFIRs were registered on the complaints of various journalists at different places. The Court observed that “All Video Cassettes produced by them were doctored”. In one of the cassettes, address of Manmohan Singh is heard. The conspiracy of submitting doctored video cassettes by some prominent ‘secular’ journalists like Vinod Dua indicates the real conspiracy behind the accusations.

As written by none other than Shri Arun Shourie that a consensus was evolving among the political parties on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue by 1989. Various negotiations with the Muslims groups were also going in a positive direction. As explained by the noted archaeologist Shri K K Muhammed in one of his interviews to Organiser Weekly, it was Communist Historians who misguided the Muslims and delayed a peaceful settlement of the Ayodhya dispute. The same people are upset with the Court judgments and making false accusations again.

Ayodhya movement is a watershed moment in the contemporary history of Bharat, not because of Hindu-Muslim question but because it has brought the core issues of our national identity to the fore. Now that the title dispute is resolved and the conspiracy behind the conspiracy theory is exposed, we should learn our lessons and come together to build a future based on our common civilisational heritage.
