Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha have appealed to the entire nation to light diya (lamp) and fasting for one time on April 28th as a mark of ‘Satvik’ protest against the inhuman and brutal lynching of 2 Hindu Sadhus and their car driver in Gadchinchale village of Palghar in Maharashtra. The Sadhus Kalpavriksha Giri (70), Sushil Giri (35) who belonged to the Juna Akhara and their driver Nilesh Telgade (30) were beaten to death by a murderous mob of over 100 people with sticks. The incident which took place on April 16th came to light only when the video of the incident was shared on social media.
April 28th also marks the birth anniversaries of Adi Shankaracharya, Sant Surdas and Sri Ramanujacharya. The VHP in a press release has also put forward a memorandum addressed to the President of India through the office of Governors of the state/UTs. The memorandum demands a high-level inquiry into the gruesome Palghar lynching of the Sadhus and severe punishment of the killers and conspirators. It can be recalled that the VHP had demanded a high level probe into involvement of Leftists in Palghar mob lynching and had pointed to the ongoing Left activities in the area.
The lynching of Sadhus at Palghar in Maharashtra on April 16th had shocked the entire nation. The role of CPM and Christian missionaries had emerged behind the Palghar Lynching case which also showcased the governance failure of Maharashtra Govt which has already been unable to handle the COVID19 spread effectively. Representations have also been made to the Maharashtra govt to grant 1 crore compensation to the families of the victims and also transfer the case to CBI & ensuring speedy justice.
