In a first such heinous incident in the country, a group of CPM workers attacked a quarantine house, where a girl was put in quarantine in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
The CPM goons targeted the girl’s house after she complained to the Chief Minister that she was facing threat from the local CPM workers. The family was facing discrimination as they were ostracised by the CPM workers.
The CPM workers were engaged in spreading rumours against the family amid Coorna scare, alleging that the girl’s father had violated the quarantine rules. The Police have registered a case against six CPM goons in connection with the incident.
In a brutal attack, both the girl and her father were injured. The assailants smashed the windows and the door of the house. The girl had been under isolation for a few days now after she returned from Coimbatore, where she is pursuing her graduation. However, the CPM workers propagated on social media that she tested positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, there are allegations that the CPM leaders interfered in the issue for the accused to go scot-free in the case. The police have released an accused involved in the incident on bail following the pressure from CPM top brass.
