100 year old soldier of Azad Hind Fauj honored on Netaji’s birth anniversary

Azad Hind Fauj soldier Radhakrishna Singh who recently turned 100 said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Azad Hind Fauj did not get due respect in independent India.

Radhakrishna Singh Shastri who was a soldier in the Azad Hind Fauj was honored on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He is also a freedom fighter. Radhakrishna Singh who is a resident of Pahadpur village of Ghodadongri block in Sarani (Betul) in Madhya Pradesh was honored by offering Shreephal, shawl at the Saraswati Vidha Mandir Vidyalaya in the city.
 
Radhakrishna Singh Shastri ji along with Satpura Saraswati Education Committee Chairman Ambadas Sune, Jayendra Sikarwar, Narendra Gujar, Yogendra Thakur, Sunil Sharma, Hariom Kushwaha lit the lamp and laid flowers on the portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Bharat Mata. Slogans like ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Amar Rahe’, Jai Hind, Vande Mataram and Bharatmata Ki Jai resonated across the school premises.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Radhakrishna Singh said that after independence, the government of independent India had despised Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Azad Hind Fauj. He lamented that anarchy is being spread in the name of caste and sect. “You should ask the children to focus on their education”, he said.
 
Radhakrishna Singh’s close confidante Ambadas Sune informed the audience about his life and achievements. Radhakrishna Singh Shastri was born on 1 January 1920 in Burma. He fought for independence by staying with Netaji from the years 1943 to 1945 and contributed significantly in liberating the country. He fought against the British in Moyrang for 11 days and 11 nights. He even donated 32 acres of his land for the country to Netaji in Burma.

He also informed that 26,000 soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj sacrificed their lives in Manipur, Imphal, Kohima but sadly the government has no record of the same, rued Committee Chairman Ambadas Sune. He further informed that on 22 December 1967, in a Parliament debate Professor Samar Guha was given half an hour to speak on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Professor Guha said that the had the government of independent India not given a 150 rupee notice to Colonel Abdul Malik, he would have stayed in India and not be forced to go to Pakistan.
 
Invited dignitaries including Rajed Prasad Tiwari, Kamlesh Patankar, Sudarshan Jhad, Shalini Jain and Vidyalaya family were present on the occasion. After the program, Shri Shastri also shared his experiences during the freedom movement with the enthusiastic audience.
