It has been reported that a Hindu women was abducted and then raped near her village in Khas district of Mirpur. The perpetrators of the crime had tied the hands and legs of the woman while committing the crime. She was beaten brutally and was left to rot in the jungle. It can be recalled that the Sikh holy shrine at Nanakana Sahib was attacked last week by a Muslim mob when the Sikh girl who was forcefully converted and married to a Muslim man returned to her parents. The rampaging Muslim mob demanded that the Sikh girl be handed over to the Muslim family and in the process vandalized the shrine and injured many Sikhs residing there. Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur has also appealed to External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar to take up such cases of barbarity in UN.
With increasing attacks and crimes on Minorities in Pakistan, the country has failed to provide decent living conditions to its minority Hindu, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis. Recently, Indian parliament passed the Citizenship Amendment Act to provide citizenship to these persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
