In a resolution adopted on second day of the meeting, the VHP expressed concern over the growing incidents of misbehaviour with women. “The Central Board of Trustees of VHP feels the need for a nationwide churning to change the situation of women. There is a need for a comprehensive and all-inclusive campaign with the cooperation of the administrative machineries, academic fraternity, Sant-Mahatmas, social and religious organisations, etc., to ensure a socio-cultural equation and perception conducive to safety and security of women,” the resolution said. The VHP requested the parents that by virtue of their being first Gurus, they should make their children aware of and sensitive about moral values. It is the responsibility of the parents to develop a healthy attitude amongst their children. “In the name of advertising and entertainment, the obscenity being offered and served by cinema and electronic, print media also promotes crime against women. Commercial films present women as objects of enjoyment. Their presentations create wrong feelings in children. It is, therefore, necessary to make the Censor Board more sensitive and give their rules and regulations more teeth,” the resolution said.

 

 

 

 

In order to inculcate sanskars and family values in the society, the work of Pariwar Prabodhan would be expended and Durga Vahini would expend self-defence trainings to young women. Also the Bajrang Dal, by its various programmes, would encourage youths to stop miss behaviour and develop healthy attitude towards women.

 

 

 

 

On second day, the VHP demanded amendment in Article 29 and 30 of the Constitution that provide certain rights to the minorities and said these rights should be granted to the majority community also. In a statement, VHP working president Shri Alok Kumar said Article 26 of the Constitution gives a right to all religious denominations ‘to establish and maintain institutions for religious and charitable purposes’. Education is obviously a charitable purpose. Therefore, the Hindus do also have a right to establish educational institutions. Article 30 of the Constitution relates to the ‘Right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice’. This Article clearly restricts this right only to the minorities. The majority religious and linguistic groups are excluded from this privilege. Article 30(2) further provides that such institutions shall have an equal right to receive financial aid from the State. Thus, the institutions established by any minority, is entitled to run it on State funding and without any governmental interference in its functioning and management. “The VHP is of the opinion that there is no justification to restrict this right to the minorities only and to deprive the same to the majority. The VHP demands that to eliminate the discrimination on the basis of the minority–majority, Articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution be expanded so as to include all religious and linguistic sections of India in its ambit,” the statement said.

 

 

 

In another resolution, the VHP expressed grave concern over the anti-Hindu conspiracies by governments in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The resolution said though the Hindus have been suffering atrocities since 1310 CE when Islamic state was expanded in South India and the anti-Hindu activities continued even after Independence, the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, formed after 2018-19 elections, have crossed all limits in implementing the anti-Hindu policies. “The Government of Andhra Pradesh has been acting like a Christian government openly flouting the Constitution. The anti-Hindu activities of churches and Christian missionary organisations have increased manifold under its protection. The government remains inactive even when Christian missionaries openly despise, berate and insult Hindu deities even in front of world famous Hindu shrines like Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam temple. Many such activities are going on across the state,” the resolution said.

 

 

Forcible demolition of many small and big ancient temples is going on unceasingly without any prior information or without consideration for alternative arrangements or back-ups. Despite the Supreme Court order, Andhra Pradesh government has been giving the Hindu taxpayers’ money Rs. 10,000/- per month to Christian and Muslim religious preachers and Maulvis (Muslim clerics) and Rs. 5,000/- per month to every Muezzin and Paster. In contrast, the salaries being paid to priests of Hindu temples are not from government money but the money from the funds of temples acquired by the ‘secular’ government.

 

 

Despite the SC declaring reservation on religious lines by Telangana government anti-constitutional, the decision of the state government to provide reservation to minorities and grant of Rs 10 lakh for church building in the name of ‘Church Development Fund’ is not only ‘anti-constitutional’ but discriminatory. “The VHP warns the governments of both the states to put an end to anti-Hindu policies at the earliest, otherwise the Hindu society will be forced to launch agitations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” the resolution said.

 

 

The meeting paid tribute to Golokvasi Madhwacharya Pejawar Peethadhishwar Pujya Swami Vishweshtirtha Maharaj. VHP working president Shri Alok Kumar said Pujya Swamiji was a frontline leader of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement. In the Dharma Sansad held in Udupi, it was he who gave the key Mantra of ‘Hindavah Sodaraa Sarve, Na Hindu Patito Bhavet’ (Hindus belong to a common fraternity, No Hindu can be fallen). He worked hard throughout his life to remove caste discrimination in the country and to build a harmonious society.
