The Mumbai rally organised by the Left not only failed but has now exposed the true intent of those involved. The rally fizzled out and was canceled after the police moved the protesters from Gateway of India to Azad Maidan. The police said that there was no permission and was an hindrance to public and tourists. However, it now seems that the anti-national forces intended to use the rally for their own purposes.

Though the rally was claimed to be in support of its JNU comrades, anti-National elements saw it as an opportunity to force their message in the same rally. A girl was found holding the ‘Free Kashmir’ placard which has angered everyone across the country with people questioning the intent of the message when the rally was about so-called solidarity with JNU.

Now, the Mumbai police have taken cognisance of the issue and have registered a FIR against Mahek Mirza Prabhu for holding ‘Free Kashmir’ placard during a protest at Gateway of India on Monday. The girl came out with a video explaining that she was not a Kashmiri but a resident of Mumbai and she says that she picked up the poster to convey that internet and communication blockade in Kashmir had to be lifted. Though many have questioned about her real intention, the origin of the poster is yet to be ascertained.

The police have said that they will investigate and get to the bottom of the poster.

Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) has complained against “Free Kashmir” posters at Gateway protest in Mumbai with the Home Minister’s Office and has requested HM Amit Shah to investigate the involvement of anti-National forces. LRO’s complaint has also been forwarded to Shree Kant Singh, Principal Secretary Home Ministry of Maharashtra and to the Commissioner of Police of Mumbai.

The LRO requests CM Uddhav Thackeray to act on the complaint and take action against the anti-National forces who are infiltrating such protests in Mumbai.

Shiv Sena’s flip flop on the anti-National placard

The Shiv Sena which came to power piggybacking on the support of ‘secular’ parties NCP and Congress seems to have left the legacy of Bal Thackeray. The recent utterances of its leaders over incidents in Kashmir, JNU and Mumbai show s that the party has left its Hindutva moorings and is interested more to cater to the whims of its alliance partners.

The BJP has strongly objected to the anti-national placard and demanded immediate inquiry in the matter. BJP even blamed the current ruling government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress for the same. Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has questioned CM Uddhav Thackeray saying how can such separatist elements in Mumbai be tolerated. The former CM said that the ‘Free Kashmir’ slogans by Azadi gang was seen just 2km from CMO and asked if Uddhav would tolerate the Free Kashmir Anti-India campaign right under his nose.

However, Shiv Sena leaders have come in defence of the anti-national forces. Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut have given statements to the effect of absolving those who held the rally and the placard. They have said that the woman may have asked for freedom from internet and mobile shutdown in the Kashmir valley, speaking in the language of the separatists.
