A Christian Evangelist slanders Adi Yogi at Isha Yoga Centre by shouting ‘Only Jesus can Save’

Viral videos and reports from Coimbatore have shown that an evangelist has indulged in slandering Adi Yogi and Yoga in front of the mammoth Adi yogi statue at Isha yoga Centre in Coimbatore. The video where a man, presumably a Christian Evangelist, is heard praising Jesus and has spread across social media too has created rippled among the adhereents of Isha Yoga and Hindus in general.

In a shocking incident of intolerance towards Hindus and their beliefs, a Christian evangelist has climbed up to the Adiyogi statue in Isha Yoga Center and had shouted “Neither Yoga, nor Yogi can liberate you from sins, only Jesus can” in high pitch. The evangelist is said to be one Felix Jebasingh. He has chosen the holy place to spread his ill intention and the visitors were taken aback from such a shameful conduct of the rabid Christian. Local media reports say that the evengelist was let off with a ‘strong’ warning by the police.

However, this is not the first time that such an incident has happened in Tamil Nadu. Certain religious bodies have been regularly involved in attacking Hinduism, Hindu organisations and leaders associated with it. They have tacit support of Dravidian, anti-national, fundamentalist and atheist outfits for their work in the state. Tamil Nadu government which also swears by the Constitution of India should take strong action against such people with an iron hand. If such anti-Hindu attitude is allowed to continue, it is sure to create major law and order problems in the state.

Evangelist and Dravidianists work together to demean Hindus

Rabid evangelists and pro-Tamil groups along with Dravidian outfits have been falsely accusing Isha Foundation of encroaching vast acres of land for the foundations. This has been stoutly denied by Sadguru. In fact, it was alleged that Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, formerly Karunya University, a private residential institute deemed to be university and founded by DGS Dhinakaran and his son Paul Dhinakaran, has illegally taken over several acres of forest land with the help of Government officials. Both DGS Dhinakaran and his son Paul Dhinakaran are rabid Evangelists and run Jesus Calls, one of the largest Evangelical organizations in Asia. Verbal attacks and accusations have been being rained at Isha Foundation, which has successfully halted the Karunya from encroaching more forest lands.

The victory of the DMK led alliance in 38 out of 39 seats, has further emboldened the Christians to preach openly and their conversion racket is in full vigour. In Tirunelveli district, near Ambasamudram , Aanaintha Nadar Patti village, the villagers put up a notice board saying “persons from alien religion should not enter this village to preach their faith”. There have been attempts to encroach hill temples in Tamil Nadu by Christians. Alert villagers thrash out people who come with handbills to promote Christianity in their village.

Adi Yogi statue was unveiled by PM Modi

The gigantic statue of the Adi Yogi, an avatar of Lord Shiva who is considered to be the first of yogis, was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Isha Foundation Coimbatore on the occasion of Hindu festival Mahashivratri on February 24, 2017. The bust of the 112-feet-tall Lord Shiva statue is made of steel and weighs 500 tonnes. It took two-and-a-half years to design and eight months to build it. The Adi Yogi statue attracts a lot of people from across the country. Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev had said that the statue is for inspiring and promoting yoga. The name “Adiyogi”, which means the first yogi, is because Shiva is known as the originator of yoga. It has become a cynosure of Coimbatore, which is a hub of textile industry and also hosts major automobile, grinder, pump set, textile machinery manufacturers.
