Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat strongly condemned the attack on the CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama and said a response was expected from the government to the attack in which 30 security personnel were killed.
Speaking to the media in Nagpur, Sarsanghchalak said, “It is a cowardly act, we strongly condemn it. We expect action in response to this incident.”
“We have tolerated a lot and are still doing so, as seen from today’s incident,” he said. “They will get a reply (to the attack),” Shri Bhagwat said.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarkaryavah Shri Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi also condemned the terror attack. In a statement, he paid homage to the martyred CRPF personnel and expressed condolences to their family members.

Shri Bhaiyyaji Joshi said in a tweet that the RSS is with the government and the security forces in this hour of crisis. “The attack is clearly a sign of desperation and frustration over the crack down on terrorism. The government should take stringent action against culprits at the earliest,” Shri Bhaiyyaji said.

The Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack, agencies reported.

In one of the deadliest terror attacks in the state, a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy in Pulwama district, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded. More than 2,500 CRPF personnel were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Latoomode in Awantipora in south Kashmir around 3.15 pm.
