Modi Connects with Kerala Sentiments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack against the ruling CPM and the Congress over their handling of the Sabarimala issue. He charged that the CPM and the LDF government are sinful in Sabarimala issue. “The CPM government’s conduct on Sabarimala will go down in history as the most shameful action of any government in power… We know CPM government never respected the culture, history and spirituality of a nation but no one thought it would turn so shameful,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister was addressing a mammoth gathering of National Democratic Alliance at the Cantonment Ground in Kollam on Tuesday last week. He said that the Communists never respect and this was what was found in the Sabarimala issue.
Criticising the Congress-CPM nexus, he said that they would speak one thing in Delhi but something else in Pathanamthitta, where the Sabarimala temple is situated. He also said that Congress would speak one language on Monday and something else on the very next day.

Prime Minister Dedicates Kollam Bypass to the Nation
Photo Caption : The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the long-delayed 2-lane Kollam bypass (13 km) on NH-66 to the nation on January 15. The Governor of Kerala Shri Justice P. Sathasivam, CM of Kerala Vijayan, Union Minister of Tourism Shri K J Alphons along with other dignitaries were present on this occasion.Addressing a gathering at the Asramam ground in Kollam, Prime Minister Modi said that infrastructure development has been the priority of his Government and the Kollam bypass is an example.He underlined the fact that the project got final sanction in January 2015 and now it has seen the light of the day. The Prime Minister told that his Government believes in ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ for ease of living to the common man and appreciated the contribution and co-operation of Kerala government in completion of the project.Kollam Bypass will reduce travel time between Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram and decongest the traffic in Kollam town.
Talking about the projects in Kerala, the PM said under Bharatmala, a detailed project report for the Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor is under preparation.The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to ensure timely completion of all the projects. He said that through PRAGATI, more than 250 projects worth Rs.12 lakh crores have been reviewed at his end.Highlighting the progress in road connectivity, the PM Modi said that compared to the previous Government, the pace of construction in national highways, rural roads has almost doubled. More than 90 per cent of rural habitations have been connected today compared to only 56 per cent in the previous government. He expressed hope that the government will reach the target of 100% rural road connectivity soon. Regional air connectivity and expansion of railway lines have shown marked improvement resulting in the creation of job opportunities. The Prime Minister said, “When we construct roads and bridges, we do not only connect towns and villages. We also connect aspirations with achievements, optimism with opportunities and hope with happiness.”About Ayushman Bharat, he said that 8 lakh patients have been benefitted under this scheme while the government has sanctioned more than 1100 crores rupees till date for the scheme.
He urged the Government of Kerala to expedite the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme, so that the people of Kerala can be benefitted.Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that tourism is the hallmark of Kerala’s economic development and a principal contributor to the State’s economy. He added that recognising the tourism potential of Kerala, the government has sanctioned 7 projects in the State under the SwadeshDarshan and PRASAD schemes with funds worth Rs 550 crore.
Prime Minister said that the BJP is the only party which has taken a clear stand on the Sabarimala issue and the party is with the people of the state and its culture. The Prime Minister also reminded the CPM of the fate of the party in Tripura and said that the days are not far away for a repeat of the same in Kerala.

Prime Minister also said that when the NDA government came to power the economy was in a mess and the past four years the growth was phenomenal. Narendra Modi said that the government would take this growth forward if elected back to power.
He said that union government has taken care of the sisters and brothers of Kerala. He recalled the union government acting in the issue of the Keralite nurses who were kidnapped by the ISIS in Iraq and saving them as well as the activities when Father Tom Uzhanalil was kidnapped in Yemen.
Lauding the extraordinary work carried out by the BJP workers in Kerala, Narendra Modi said, “UDF and LDF will laugh at BJP but they don’t understand our Karyakartas, and you cannot break the morale of BJP karyakartas”. He also said that the BJP is the part of the people of Kerala and the people of Kerala has woken up to BJP.
After attending the public programmes in Kollam, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram and unveiled a plaque to mark the
inauguration of Swadesh Darshan Scheme. He also offered prayers at the temple.
