Senior RSS Swayamsevak Sri Champakanath (94 years) passed away in Bengaluru. He became RSS Swayamsevak in 1942. In 1946, he was one among the FIRST batch of 3 RSS Pracharaks from Karnataka along with Late HV Sheshadri and Late K Surya Narayan Rao.
Anyone who came in contact of Champakanath ji was aware of his calm and composed demeanour, simple living and as a man for affable words. He had once narrated an incident when he had ferried Guruji on a bicycle from Malleshwaram to Basavanagudi when he was touring Bengaluru.
His long life dedicated to the service of Sangh and the nation is an ideal worth emulating for us all.
