Controversial Islamic preacher MM Akbar is being interrogated by Enforcement Directorate. Akbar is the MD of the controversial Peace International group of schools. The interrogation started on October 15. The schools have been undergoing inquiries for teaching lessons which cultivate religious extremism and fanaticism.

About 10 schools are being run by Peace International group. Earlier the authorities had found out that these schools have been teaching the books which are not recognized by the authorized agencies of the education department. Akbar was arrested on February 25 for facilitating the teaching of illegal curriculum.
Akbar was interrogated in Kozhikode in connection with the enquiries into the conduct of the Peace schools. Enforcement sought information regarding the financial resources, foreign funds, etc. Directorate has asked the Peace group to submit the related bank documents, details of the financial transactions, etc. within a month.
Akbar was arrested when he came back from abroad. Police had issued a Lookout Notice against this man. Cases had been registered against Burooj Realisation, Mumbai for preparing the controversial curriculum for Peace schools. Police had found out several documents which promoted religious animosity when they raided the headquarters of the Peace group. Organiser had carried several stories about the controversies and mysteries concerning Peace group since the last more than two years.
