MG Vaidya conferred D.Lit

Bhopal: Veteran journalist, writer and thinker Shri Madhav Govind Vaidya was conferred honorary D.Lit on May 23 at his residence in Nagpur by Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya Shri Jagdish Upasane, Rector of the University Shri Lajpat Ahuja and Registrar Shri Sanjay Dwivedi. Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naid had made this announcement on May 16 during the Convocation. Shri Vaidya could not reach Bhopal to receive the degree following health reasons, the University VC and officials visited Nagpur to confer it.
 
 
 
Born on March 11, 1923 Shri MG Vaidya taught at a college in Nagpur and then edited Tarun Bharat from 1966 to 1983. He has also authored and edited many books. Conferring the D.Lit Shri Upasane said the decision was taken to recognise the valuable contribution of Shri Vaidya in the field of journalism and writing. Shri Vaidya also thanked the University for selecting his name for the honour. Smt Vaidya was also present on the occasion.
