Bhopal: Senior journalist and former chief editor of Janmabhumi Daily Shri P Narayanan, was conferred with the prestigious Vidyaniwas Mishra award by Madhya Pradesh Government. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented the Award at his residence on April 10. The Award consists of Rs 2.51 lakh and a citation. Shri Narayanan also served as Kerala correspondent of Organiser Weekly for almost two decades.
Shri Narayanan started his social life as an RSS Pracharak in 1959. After holding various positions in the Sangh he was deputed to Bharatiya Jana Sangh as Kerala state organising secretary, a post that he held till Emergency. He took the charge of starting a daily with nationalistic perceptive, Janmabhumi, and served as its general manager, special correspondent, editor as well as chief editor for 20 years. After retirement, he writes a weekly column narrating the history of the Sangh in Kerala through his personal experience named “Through the path of the Sangh” (Sangha Pathathiloode). The excerpts from this have been compiled into a book and it is one of the best sellers of last year.
He has also penned biographies of K Bhaskar Rao, K Kelappan and P Madhavji. He translated 40 books from English and Hindi to Malayalam including the Collected Works of Guruji Golwalker, biography of Dr Hedgewar and First War of Independence by VD Savarkar.
