News Round-Up : New Year Celebration at Yamuna

New Delhi: Sanskar Bharati Delhi organised New Year celebration at Soorghat of Yamuna River on March 18. RSS Uttar Kshetra Sah Karyavah Shri Vijay Kumar, Delhi state BJP president Shri Manoj Tiwari, Director General of National Gallery of Modern Art Shri Adwaita Gadanayak inaugurated the function. The function began with the dance performance by the disciples of noted Bharatnatyam Guru Padmabhushan Saroja Vaidyanathan. VHP general secretary Shri Champatrai also addressed the gathering. Shri Pankaj Gupta, chairman of SPAGO India, welcomed the gathering. The proceedings were conducted by organising secretary of the Sanskar Bharati Delhi Shri Jitendra Mehta. The New Year was welcomed through different performances including music, dance, paintings, poetry, rangoli, instruments, etc.   

 

Ram Rajya Rath Yatra enters Tamil Nadu

Tirunelveli: The Ram Rajya Rath Yatra, flagged off on Mahashivratri Day on February 13 from Ayodhya, entered Tamil Nadu on March 20 from Puliyarai, Tirunelveli. The Yatra is being conducted under the leadership of Swami Krishananda Saraswati with the objectives of re-establishment of Ram Rajya, inclusion of Ramayana in curriculums, construction of Shri Ram Ram Temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya and declaration of Thursday as National weekly holiday and declaration of World Hindu Day. A memorandum urging  these five points will be submitted to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind after collecting 10 lakh signatures during the Yatra.
The VHP has extended support to the yatra in Tamil Nadu. It is passing through Sengottai, Ilangi, Tenkasi, Kadayanalloor, Puliyangudi, Vasudevanalloor, Sivagiri and will proceed to Rameswaram via Rajapalayam and Madurai. Local District Collector Sandeep Nanduri imposed Section 144 from 6.00 pm on March 19 to 6.00 am on March 23. It is said that the order was passed to thwart any plans of miscreants to instigate violence and spread communal tension during the Yatra.
On March 19, three AIADMK allies MLAs Thamimun Ansari Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi, S. Karunas, (Mukkulathor Pulipada and U Thaniarasu (Kongu Ilaignar Peravai) and IUML MLA KAM Muhammed Abubacker urged Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal to take up special mention of the Ram Rajya Rath Yatra. The Speaker refused the request as the notice was given just ahead of the commencement of the session.    n

 

Be the game changer

Chennai: Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti along with ‘Bharati Seva Sangam’, Smt Annamaal Vivekananda Public Charitable Trust, Jana Seva Trust, Madhava Seva Samiti, Samooga Seva Samiti, Tamil Nadu, Kesava Seva Sangam and Dr. Hedgewar Shatabdhi Smarak Samiti organised a function at Sakthi Karyalaya to extend help to the needy students on March 17.
It all started ten years back when the sons of a retired railway official entrusted Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti, an RSS affiliate, with the task of selecting needy candidates. The family had deposited a tidy sum, being the retirement benefits of the official with the trust for this purpose. For the last two years each family has added its own contribution to this charity.
Shri N Muthuraman, co-founder and director of Swarajya magazine presided over the function. Executive Member of Dr. Hedgewar Smarak Samiti Shri S Raja motivated people to become change agent in social transformation. Seva Nidhi is collected through door-to-door campaign reaching 25,000 houses of Uttar Tamil Nadu. Around 158 college and school students received the scholarship. Prant Kutumba Prabodhan Pramukh Shri MKR Mohan thanked the audience. Chennai Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shri Chandrasekar and other Sangh functionaries were also present.
