West Bengal : Jihadis Find New Haven in Bengal

Jihadis are creating new hideouts in Bengal and making Kolkata their new-found nervecentre   for anti-national activities

Basudeb Pal  in Kolkata

Two hardcore  Bangladeshi terrorists were arrested on  November 21 from the Kolkata rail station  by the special task force of the Kolkata  police. They were active in at least six states for several years making it clear that the  Jihadi activities so far found in mega cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bungaluru  have come to Kolkata as well.
Thus it is clear that, West Bengal is not just the target of the jihadis but a safe haven for them. After the arrest of one after the other it has been proved that the jihadis from Bangladesh are entering West Bengal.
These jihadis are creating hideouts and making Kolkata a nervecentre   for anti-Indian Jihadi activities. Moreover, the local women marrying such elements ensure their  Indian identity, which is a dangerous trend.
A most dangerous group, break away from the JMB (Jamatul Muzahidin Bangladesh) named as ABT (Ansarulla Bangla Team) have been carrying on terror activities.

As the elections in Bangladesh are around the corner, the Government there is cracking down hard on Jama’at ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and other terror outfits. The effective action by the government agencies like Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has forced them to flee Bangladesh and their next destination is Malda in West Bengal.
On November 30, cross-firing could be heard in the adjoining district of Bangladesh, Chapai Nawabganj  in which three terrorists were killed by the Bangladeshi Security forces while few others could escape from the spot. All of them were members of JMB. Border Security Force (BSF) of India was aware of this and immediately declared a red alert on the bordering area with Bangladesh in Malda and Murshidabad districts.
Earlier, on November 28, 2017 also in the midnight some efforts were made of illegal intrusion by cutting the fence. Though it was dubbed as a cattle smuggling incident, actually the Jehadi activists were trying to escape from RAB of Bangladesh. Fortunately, BSF on Indian side foiled their attempt.
Malda shares around 172 kms of border with Bangladesh out of which 50 Kms is without fence. Out of that 50 Kms, about 25 kms is a water
border cover by Ganga and tributaries. The block adjacent to this water border is the hub of Jehadi, anti-social elements involved in cattle smuggling and fake currency rackets. According to Bangladeshi sources, five fake currency printing presses are functional here and controlled by Jehadists. From places called Chari Ananatpur and Sabadalpur of Malada district the Bangladeshi villages called Telkuppi, Manakasa and Alkuni are just half a kilometre away. The densely forested difficult terrain is 400 kms away from the Bangladesh Capital City of Dhaka. That is why JAB has made it a centre of activities and now with ISIS elements are infiltrating this place. After the recent arrests of JAB activists in Kolkata and Bangladeshi forces seized dozens of heavy detonators, hand-grenades and firearms from this area. It has made the situation tensed.

Two terrorists named as Samsad Miyan and Riazul Islam were arrested along with an illegal arms dealer  Monotosh Dey. They used to work as building worker (Hodman) to preach jihad among the common Muslims very cleverly and carefully. They had worked the same way  not only in Kolkata but also in Hyderabad, Ranchi, Pure and Patna. Even they worked at a slaughter house in Hyderabad.
Making Home in India
According to police sources, they duly managed to have identity (Photo- identity card). The police and the
intelligence officials are investigating who are the persons who helped them get identity card. Third arrested Monotosh Dey’s three shelters have been identified so far on the  Basirhat border to Hilli border attached to Bangladesh. Monotosh married one Afroza Bibi eleven years age at Hamoa and lived there. Later he lived at Kholapofa and Raghumalhpur of Basirhat also.
Mantosh lived at Mathurapur colony of Basirhat at a stretch for one and a half years. Changing his name and occupation, he used to tell about himself as an ex-military, or construction labour. Samshad Miyan used another name Tanvir. He had taken training from the top leaders of Al Qaeda. He and his fellowmen brought fire arms from Munger of Bihar and circulated them in various  areas of West Bengal. Over all Shamshad is an explosive expert also. They used various bank accounts for illegal transactions.
Shamsad could prepare in one and a half hours fully most modern Improvised Explosive Device instantly which left the officials of STF, NIA and the intelligence officials totally
spellbound. It has come to light that at least twenty-six persons from India have been well trained in Afghanistan.
Suspicious Identities
Hyderabad, Bungaluru, Ranchi, Patna Muzafarnagar  and Deoband of Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata, Burdwan—at least in 6 states-the jihadi network is well established by the cadres of the ABT. Shamshad and Riazul
succeeded in Kolkata within few months to create sleeper jihadi cell.  In this connection after going through deep interrogation, one Rakil Ali was arrested from Andran Fulbari village of Coochbehar district’s Tufanganj
subdivision (Taluka), whose maternal uncle is one Moyen Ali of the Trinamool Congress.
Rakib Ali’s identity is suspicious— as per his identity card, his mother is a sister of Moyen Ail, father is one Amjad Ali. Rakib and his brother used to live at Moyen Ali’s residence. Moyen told the police that Rakib used to go to Bangladesh
Rakib was arrested by STF when he was trying to go to Malaysia. Coochbehar is the longest route from Kolkata. After interrogating Rakib Ali, police arrested three persons from Tufanganj—Moyen Ali, Amjad Ali and Hafizur Rahman.
Yasin Vatkal also took shelter in Kolkata a few years ago. But police were in dark about him. Their ISI agent was arrested from Gardenreach Ship Builders and Engineers two years back. They planned in Kolkata and operated in various other states with their new shelter places in the state capital.    n
