Chalo Kerala : ABVP Takes On Red Herring

The ABVP has taken the challenge of the Red head-on and  built a momentum in Kerala to fight the reckless violence spread by the CPM cadre indicating rise of the Kerala youth power against it

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a massive protest rally in Trivandrum, on November 11 against growing Communist violence and political killings in Kerala. This rally was a historic event as thousands of students representing various states and union territories participated in this movement.
Vinay Bidre national general secretary of ABVP while addressing the huge gathering said that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had no moral right to remain in the office because he had failed to maintain law and order as a home minister and also because he had been an accused in  in the 1969 Vadikal Ramakrishnan murder case, though he was absolved of the charges later.
He said  the failure in handling law and order is a common phenomenon of all the Communist governments in Kerala starting from 1957. The reason behind the phenomenon is nothing but to give free hand to the party cadre and politicisation of the police force. Immediately after the current government assumed power violence against their political opponents resumed in its full force. So far 14 RSS, BJP workers have been killed, while thousands have sustained injuries and lost either their homes or livelihood due to such attacks. More than 300 ABVP workers alone got injured in SFI, CPI (M) violence. There have been nearly twenty incidents of  attempt on life. There are 65 college campuses in Kerala where SFI is a dominant force, they are not allowing students belonging to other ideologies to work  there and  indulge in campaigns which defame our national and cultural symbols.  These examples shows that the Communism is nothing but anti-human, anti-democratic and anti-national in its essence. Hence, ABVP will use all kind of democratic means to expose and defeat communist forces in Kerala.

He also urged the central government to take stern steps to control the Communist violence and all cases of recent political killings by the Communists should be transferred to a SIT or an independent central investigation agency and that adequate compensation along with government job to one of the family members of the deceased victims of the political violence be provided. . The linkage, complicity, and assistance provided by CPI (M) to Islamic extremist elements needed to be investigated while steps should be taken to reinvestigate the cases like that of the  1996 murder of 3 ABVP workers Anu, Kim Karunakaran and Sujith in Parumala DB College, K T Jayakrishnan murder and the murder of Vadikal Ramakrishnan.
 A CBI investigation should be ordered into the high-level conspiracy in the T P Chandrashekaran murder case whereas the NIA investigation should be ordered into the murder of ABVP workers Vishal and Sachin Gopal by Campus Front and Popular Front of India to unearth the larger conspiracy and terror, left links behind it.
 Terrorist Links
The shabby and suspicious financial transactions and money laundering involving terrorist elements and their political links needed to be investigated. Such money plays a vital role in growing anti-national activities and political violence in Kerala and the Union home ministry should immediately send a high-power delegation to Kerala to review the situation there.
ABVP national organising secretary Sunil Ambekar recalled the sacrifice of those who have been victims of the Communist violence. He assured the gathering that their sacrifice will be always remembered. And thousands are joining hand with ABVP to fight this inhuman menace of the Communist violence. The hands of Communists are stained with blood of innocents. Their history itself is of violence and mass killings. The history of Indian communists is of anti-national activities. The  1962 Indo-China war and the anti-national stand taken by the Communist party is an example. Further, they are not happy with the growth of India. They are the biggest hurdle and critics of our national resurgence. “But I would like to tell the comrades here that at least learn from your counterparts in China, Russia and Nepal they are doing something for their country and they are not anti-national like you. Maybe the communism of India is a product of illegal money pumped by the outsiders, so  that is the reason you become so anti-national”, he added.
Dr. Nagesh Thakur, national president of ABVP, national leaders like O Nidhesh, Ashish Chouhan, Nidhi Tripathi, Mahamedha Nagar, etc. also addressed the gathering. The living victims of communist violence Sadanandan Master and K S Sanoop were others who addressed the gathering. Sadanandan master, in his brief speech, said that he did not regard himself as a victim , instead considered himself as a warrior. Sanoop when removed his artificial eyes from his left eye which he lost in an SFI attack , the gathering was emotionally moved. The relatives of the victims also shared the stage with other ABVP leaders.
This massive protest rally of ABVP at Trivandrum was the culmination of its nation-wide campaign against the CPI (M) sponsored political violence and killings in Kerala. In the month preceding the ABVP had organised a number of programmes to expose the anti-human, and anti-democratic face of communism in thousands of
campuses across the country. To draw the attention of Hon’ble Indian President to the killing spree of CPI (M) goons, ABVP workers sent a memorandum to him as well. The ABVP delegation also met union home minister Rajnath Singh and MoS home affairs Kiran Rijiju to discuss the situation in Kerala. The delegation also submitted a memorandum to both the ministers.
As part of the rally, the  ABVP Kerala unit also organised various programs. Four regional yatras, city and campus unit conventions, girl’s conventions, flag hoisting day in college campuses etc. were among some of such events. On  November 8, the  ABVP national leaders led by general secretary Vinay Bidre conducted a street campaign and distributed pamphlets to the students and the people.  He sought support and participation of students and public for the cause. The next day students from various states participated in a candlelight vigil against the Communist atrocities at Palayam martyr’s memorial. On the previous day,  hundreds of girl students wearing ‘Chalo Kerala’ T-shirts participated in a program named ‘Run for violence-free Kerala’. The famous Malayalam film actor and Rajya Sabha MP, Suresh Gopi and ABVP national president Dr Nagesh Thakur jointly flagged off the Run at Palayam martyr’s memorial. ABVP national general secretary, Vinay Bidre addressed the gathering before the flag off.
 At Museum junction, ABVP former national general secretary  Hari Bhorikar inaugurated the rally. ABVP national president Dr Nagesh Thakur, national general secretary Vinay Bidre and other national office bearers lead the rally. Student workers arrived from various states and marched in a column along with national leaders.
5000 Girls Protest
The student workers of Kerala unit lead by state president C.K.Rakesh, state secretary Shyam Raj and other state leaders joined the rally from Pattam junction. More than 5000 girl workers from all over India also
participated and raised slogans against the Communist atrocities. The rally took more than 2 hours to cover a point. The front portion of the rally, when reached its destination the Putharikkandam Maidan, its tail end was at its starting point, many kilometres away. From this simple fact, one can assume the size and participation of the rally. The rally when passed a stretch between University College and Govt. Sanskrit College (both SFI bastions), stones were pelted on ABVP workers to provoke them. Nevertheless, ABVP workers continued their march peacefully. But this incident once again exposed the intolerant face of communism.
