CPM is peddling outright lies against the RSS after the Chief Minister’s remarks over the actress case proved to be wrong

The kidnapping and molestation of a popular Malayalam film actress have been hitting the headlines in Kerala for the last few months. The arrest of popular Malayalam matinee idol Dileep has made the issue live and the most talked about one in the state for the last few months. Now, the CPM, after losing the face due to the peoples’ allegation about ruling party’s slow pedalling in the issue, has come out with an utter lie stating that RSS was helping the actor to garner popular support.
Even though the incident took place in February, the matter turned the hottest single issue in the state when the contract goon ‘Pulsar Suni’ was arrested last month in this regard. The victim had mentioned his name to her close associates and police. Now, the police state that they do have all sorts of necessary evidence of Dilip’s involvement in this worst sort of crime. Now, the investigations are going on to unearth the conspiracy part of this shocking crime. In this connection, the police are still trying to trace the mobile phone used for taking the undesirable pictures of the actress while she was taken in the car driven by Suni through the streets of Kochi during the middle of the night. Now, an advocate is in police custody as part of the endeavour to trace the mobile phone. Pulsar Suni is alleged to have handed over the phone in question to a senior lawyer. Since the senior is absconding, his junior is being interrogated under custody. To add insult to the injury, Suni told the media, when he was brought to the court, that the VIP in Aluva jail knows who else is involved.  Obviously, he was referring to Dileep.
When Dileep was interrogated before the arrest, Amma (Association of Malayalam Movie Actors) took an open and clear cut stand in his favour. The same time their office bearers told the media men after their meeting, that they were with the victim too! It was a strange stand like ‘run with the hare and hunt with the hounds’!  AMMA president Innocent MP (Lok Sabha) and two other office bearers Mukesh MLA and Ganesh Kumar MLA, all belonging to CPM-led LDF, took all sorts of arrogance from their sheath to counter the media persons during the press conference. Both Innocent and Mukesh were fielded in the electoral fray by CPM while Ganeshkumar belongs to Kerala Congress (B), an LDF partner. Mammootty is a known fellow traveller of CPM boss and CM Pinarayi Vijayan; he is the chairman of CPM TV channel “Kairali.” Mohanlal is known for his ‘blow hot and cold’ diplomacy as far as his politics is concerned. These incidents are to be viewed in the context of Pinarayi’s statement during the first few days after the kidnapping took place. As soon as Pulser Suni was arrested the CM in-charge-of the Home portfolio said that ‘there was no conspiracy behind’ the brutal act. Those days people saw it as a signal to the police to ‘go slow.’
Since the public opinion started to fume, the government and the police had no other alternative than to ’act.’ Once Dileep was arrested the same AMMA office bearers did a somersault. They denounced and disowned Dileep. They even expelled Dileep from Amma. Mammootty, Mohanlal and Innocent came before the media in an apologetic mood. They confessed that they did not know that Dileep was a man of that sort! The same day he was expelled from the bodies of film producers, technical supporters like directors, etc. and movie house operators. Then came CPM leaders with a strange argument that Pinarayi’ statement was a camouflage to trap the culprits!
There are serious allegations that social media campaigns in support of Dileep are being carried out by PR agencies deployed by Dileep’s men spending crores of rupees. By this time, CPM TV channel Kairali’s online edition flashed an utter lie that RSS Prant Sanghchalak arranged the PR agency for Dileep. Next day, CPM mouthpiece Deshabhimani Malayalam daily echoed it. Prant Sanghchalak P E B Menon told Organiser that he has filed a defamation case against Kairali channel and Deshabhimani. Observers believe that this is another game of CPM to recover from the shameful ‘no conspiracy’ statement CM issued after the incident.            —T Satisan, Kochi
