Karnataka is on the boil following the killing of Sangh workers. The latest killing was reported from Mangaluru where a swayamsevak, Sarath Madivala, was attacked on July 4 and he died on July 7. The attacks on Sangh workers are on the rise during the last two years. As many as 12 swayamsevak have been killed and over a dozen were injured. But no pseudo-secularist from the Award Wapasi gang ever came forward to utter a word against these killing. It seems the killings in Karnataka are part of an organised campaign and it is similar to the killings of Sangh workers in Kerala.  List of few Sangh workers killed in Karnataka during two years:
1.    Vishwanath: On February 19, 2015 Vishwanath (32), was hacked to death by Popular Front of India (PFI) activists in Shivamogga. Three men riding a bike were stabbed by PFI activists. While the bike rider, Vishwanath died, the other two—pillion riders—received grave injuries.
2.    Prashant Poojary: On October 9, 2015 Prashant Poojary, a young activist of Bajrang Dal was hacked to death in Moodabidri region of Dakshina Kannada. Poojary (29), a flower vendor, was keen on cow protection activities.
3. Kuttappa: On November 10, 2015 DS Kuttappa, was hacked to death on protesting against #TippuJayanti celebrations. Kuttappa (67) had retired from Horticulture  Department. He served as secretary for the VHP Kodagu District.
4.    Raju Kyathemaranahalli: On March 13, 2016, Kyathemaranahalli Raju (37), a BJP leader, was brutally hacked to death in Mysuru. Raju was standing near a tea stall at Udayagiri extension when a gang of about four-five people attacked him with lethal weapons. 37 year old Raju had stopped the illegal construction of a masjid in Kyatamaranahalli and was the main driving force behind building a Ganesh temple. He had united and organised the Hindus of Udayagiri, NR Mohalla and Kytharamanahalli, which is said to have led to his murder.
5.    Praveen Poojary: On the midnight of August 14, 2016 Praveen was hacked to death in Kushalnagar town of Kodagu (Coorg) District. Poojary (32), was an auto rickshaw driver, was returning after attending Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas.
6.    Rudresh: On October 16, 2016, Rudresh (42) was hacked to death in a brutal attack at Shivajinagar in Bengaluru. Rudresh was returning after attending RSS Path Sanchalan held in the morning. He was murdered being in RSS ganavesh. He was serving as president of Shivajinagar Mandal of the BJP.
7.    Magali Ravi: On November 5, 2016, BJP youth leader Magali Ravi was killed in Magali near Piriyapattana of Mysuru. He was returning after attending a peace-meeting called by the local police in connection with Tipu Jayanti Celebrations. He was killed while he was on his way to his native house.
8.    Yogesh Goudar: On June 16, 2016, Yogesh Goudar, BJP Hebballi Zilla Panchayat Member of Dharwad, was brutally killed in front of his Gym at Saptapur, Dharwad.

Attacks in Mangaluru

  • Immediately after Siddaramaih assumed office of CM, Shri Mayya, a priest in a temple residing at Uchila of the Talapady Gram Panchayat under Mangaluru Taluk, got a shock of his life. His cow and her calf, who were in the cowshed, were brutally amputated. The body parts were thrown in the area where he had planted Tulasi. Four years now the culprits have not been caught.
  • Few days later, at Mogaveerapattana of Ullala, stones were hurled on the Hindus at night. This happened for few days. Finally, people caught the culprits. People submitted a complaint to police, but no action was taken. Later it came to the notice that the culprits were working on the behest of a minister. Instead of taking action against the culprits, false cases were filed against the complainant. After some time it was observed that at Ullala Kodi, Shochepura, some Muslim youth carrying swords were attacking people from Mogaveera community. Yet no action was taken by the police. Later, saints from various mutts including Pejawar Swamiji conducted peace meetings and expressed solidarity towards the families.

  • A social worker, Ramamohan Rai Amblamogaru, was attacked by two persons riding a bike. He has recovered. Police took interest in the case.
  • In Konaje’s Deralakatte, an innocent girl student was abducted by 12 Muslim fanatics. She was raped. A minister helped the fanatics in the case.
  • In Harekala, swayamsevaks were threatened at Shakha by some Muslims miscreants armed with swords and machetes.
  • Police obey the orders of Minister. Nine youth have been booked under Section 307 citing political reasons.
  • Munnaru village resident Chiranjeevi was attacked on the head by two Muslims riding Pulsar.
