All castes here share a common cemetery which is not only unprecedented but has set an example for others in the region

By constructing a common cemetery for all castes, Metpally
village in Karimnagar district has taken a big leap  ahead of other villages in creating social harmony (s?marasata). All castes here share a common cemetery which is not only unprecedented but has set an example for others in the region.
By allowing members of all the communities to enter into Shiva’s ground, the village elders have inaugurated a movement to create social goodwill among all, which is unmatched in the history of the state.
The Sub-Inspector of Husnabad, Shri Bhoomaiah and  Shri Tummala Sriram Reddy have been the brains behind it.
At a time when caste divisions are spoiling the harmony in the society, the two  embarked upon the project  for
providing a common facility for the last rites tone and all regardless of the caste and community they came from.
Spread over 20-30 kuntas piece of land the cemetery cost Rs 20 lakh and gives a look of a beautiful park.
The facility is large enough to allow two cremations  to take place simultaneously. While cremations normally cost Rs 15,000, but  here the cost of a cremation is estimated at only Rs 5,000.
‘The daily upkeep and organisation of the facility’ is being looked after by Shri Satyam, who runs a mechanic shop, Shri Ravi, Shri Ellareddy and other close companions. The cemetery was inaugurated in February, and has witnessed cremations including those from the Scheduled Caste community. Arrangements have been made for water for bathing and for wood so as to avoid inconvenience to the users.
This achievement of Metpally village stands out as an example of all communities living in perfect harmony, with respect for one another. In his Vijayadashami address in 2015, Sarsanghchalak of RSS had called for Hindu society to work towards ensuring that all HIndus have common access to temple, cemetery and water sources. Metpally village stands as an example in that direction.  This is  Hindutva in action.    (VSK Telangana)
