New Delhi: “The Western economic thinking begins with Adam Smith and limits itself mostly to the materialistic life. Whereas, the Indian thinking is millions year old and answers every aspect of the economic activity very minutely. We are the inheritors of such a rich legacy. The western economic thinking is trapped in the circle of mindless consumerism, while we have been the follower of sustainable consumerism,” said noted economist and RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt, while releasing a book, Prachin Bharatiya Arthchintan: Ek Jhalak, written by the late Dr Govindram Sahni, in New Delhi on June 28. Former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and noted economist Dr VR Panchmukhi were also present on the occasion. The book has been published by Prabhat Prakashan.
Dr Joshi said economic thinking in our country has been divine and the book written by Dr Sahni leads to that divine feeling. The book begins with the Indian calendar, which portrays how old is our  economic thinking. Dr VR Panchmukhi, who wrote the forward of the book, said the book provides information about the original sources of Indian economic thinking. Dr Ramesh Nagpal introduced the book.                                   Smt Santosh Sahni, wife of the late Dr GR Sahni was also present.

CPM goons target Karthik’s father again

Kannur : CPM goons attacked the house of 7 year old Karthik at Iritti in Kannur District. Karthik was hacked by CPM men last month when they came to the house to kill his father Rahul, a BJP worker. But Rahul was not home at that time. Karthik had been discharged from the hospital last week after weeks long treatment. The goons came to his house on June 27 night to kill Rahul and since he was not there the angry CPM killers smashed the windowpanes of the house and pushed a scooter down. When the family members got up hearing the sound of the breaking glasses the goons ran away. Rahul told reporters that they were the same people who hacked his son last month. Detailed story of the attack on Karthik had been carried by Organiser  in its issue dated June 12.
