Readers’ Forum : God’s Own Country Or Godless Country

(Organiser, 15.11.15) This refers to the article titled ‘God’s Own Country Or Godless Country’ by M Surendra Nathan in Organiser. For Keralites, Hindu is one who believes in Hindu gods, irrespective of his diet. For us Hindu is not necessarly a vegetarian. By religion, only Namboothiri caste people are vegetarians. But even  Namoothiries don’t care about other people’s diet. We eliminated untouchability and such stupid customs long before through the activities of our social reformers. You must have heard about Sree Narayana Guru and Ayyankali. We never interfere in the diet of others. If some of us don't like some food we just stay away. We never kill any other fellow beings for their diet habits. In Kerala Malappuram is a Muslim majority district. Yet people from other castes also stay there. Mr.Surendra Nathan, have you ever been to Malappuram or at least to Kerala? You will find the people from all religions live harmoniously. We, Keralites are really in Gods own country or at least God's own State in Bharat and we are proud about it.

Surendra Nathan’s article carries too much exaggeration. Nalini Jameela’s and Manian Pillai's autobiographies are not included in the syllabus. Living-together relationship  is not the order of the day in the State. These type of articles will hamper the credibility of Organiser.

Freedom of Expression is a Fundamental Right in a democracy  but the secularists go on criticising the  statements of the  BJP/RSS leaders without rhyme or reason. I ask these secularists “Where were they when the then Prime Minister of Bharat said on November 19, 1984  Jab bara darakth girta hai to Dharti kampti hai (when a huge tree falls even the mother earth shakes). The man was justifying the massacre of the Sikhs during the 1984. I was in Bharat at that time and I felt sorry after hearing these words on the  TV. I am  indebted to Modiji for saying these words in a Bihar rally ,“Sonia talks about tolerance but she should remember November 2 1984 when thousands of innocent Sikhs were killed by the Congress Goondas.”

High time to act

It is evidently clear that Pakistani Army is committing atrocities on the citizens of occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Gilit and Baltistan, the parts of this region are strategically important as they are close to the borders of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and China’s rebel province of Xinjiang. It is also a need of the hour that Bharat should support the freedom movement of Xinjiang, the country which the so-called People’s Liberation Army of China has occupied forcibly. The proposed Beijing–Gwadar Route is supposed to pass through Xinjiang and enter Pakistan through the PoJK. It is a fact that neither Xinjiang belongs to China nor PoJK belongs to Pakistan, which is not prepared to help the Muslim majority Xinjiang, in spite of flaunting the Islamic flag of crescent and star. Liberation of Xinjiang will lead to embodiment of the liberation movement of Tibet and annihilate the possibility of the proposed Beijing-Guadar route. Therefore now it is high time that Bangladesh type action is needed to rescue the helpless people of Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir and help the liberation movement of Xinjiang.

Condemnable Remarks

The reported remarks of  Farooq Abdullah about the PoK are roundly condemnable. With the same logic, can he tell his co-religionists in Palestine to let  Jerusalem remain with Israel? Or for that matter, can he advise his Muslim citizens in India to either forgo Special; Status in Kashmir, or stop demanding equality in rest of the country? Will he prevail upon the Central Government to make applicable Shariat Criminal Law for the Muslim offenders in Bharat, if they are averse to be governed by the Uniform Civil Code in the country? Also, let him tell the nation as to who was the person who had declared his nationality as Kashmiri Muslim while applying for an Bharateeya Passport?
