Sangh and Politics
Today we are enjoying political freedom. There are and there may be doubts and controversies about this, but the fact remains that politically, may be partially and partly, we are free. So it is natural that there be an urge in the people that this Hindu Nation and its freedom must be defended. Sangh at present has got an up-hill task and it is mani-folded. We got freedom but we lost a nation. Now we have to retain the freedom and replace the Hindu Nation in the grand temple of freedom and this can be done through an organisation based on love, pride and glory. The past is our pride and glory. Future is unbounded and unlimited. The political arrangements and agreements, political divisions and sub-divisions of the country, are matter for politicians to think of. But the nation is above them. Nation is a life—current, an instinctive urge that is born with the man. It is a selfless and restless soul, powerful and potent, which does not recognise any haphazard convenient arrangements made by time-servers. It is strongly felt in all the national movements and the Sangh is no exception to it. It is essentially and genuinely a grand national movement above patties and politics.
About its future plans and programmes also there are certain doubts or certainties in the minds of the people. The great certainty that is expected and expressed is that tomorrow sangh will be a political party or power. But we have already said that tomorrow is unbounded and unlimited. It is not wise to put any barrier and boundry line on the national life. We have already expressed that this is an urge at the bottom that this nation, its freedom, its organisation must be maintained, retained defended and protected. This urge within us is very vigorous, unbounded and unlimited. It is an ennobling divine life of our mission. The Sangh has taken it upon itself that this ancient glorious cultured Holy Land and its people are everything to us, and all this is to be kept in integrity and all types of work and various aspects of national life are to be manifested and shall be manifested through an organisation. -Dadarao Parmarih
Vikramshila Discovered By LK Mishra, General Secretary, Bateswarsthan Vikramshila Raksha Committee, Colgong, Bhagalpur Until about a century ago ateshwarsthan was known as Shilasabgam, a truly descriptive word, as Kosi and the Gange then inclosed inside the angle of their continence the great mass of rocks and the Bateshwar hill which dominate the site. This oat-of-the-way spot has been long famous for its religious value to the millions of devotees.Recent discoveries have revealed objects of further historicsl interest here. We understand from these that Bateshwarsthan was also an important centre where the Shiva, Bauddh and the Shakta cultures went into a harmonious fusion with the fundamentals of orthodox Brahmanism. The ruins of the University of ancient Nalanda are already a proven fact. Althoug, however, there is much literary evidence bearing on the varied curriculum and physical features of the Vikramshila University establishment, the identical spot where this, the third and last Bauddh University of ancient Bihar, actually stood has continued to be a matter of speculation. |
