(Organiser, 30.8.2015); We got highly disturbed after reading the editorial ‘ The Dangerous Jihadi ’ in Organiser. A Pakistani flag and an ISIS too on the soil of Bharat! Atrocious. Asiya Andrabi justifying her action as a revolt against the Bharatiyas clearly means that more has to be done to root out extremism and as the editorial rightly says, “ This makes the lady most dangerous proponent of violence.”Allowing this to happen in Kashmir an integral part of Bharat does not bode well for Bharatiyas. The map of Kashmir is under threat. Our leader’s attention should be focused on what is happening in Kashmir. The jihadists are destroying history. Raising the flag is just the beginning. A war of ideas that is what Islam stand for. One wonders whether our Government has the strategy to tackle the separatists who are out to destroy Kashmir’s identity. Kashmir is an integral part of Bharat. If this ploy of Asiya Andrabi is allowed to continue, slowly and steadily separatists will grow stronger and stronger and would destroy the very sacred fabric of Bharat.

A number of write-ups have appeared in Organiser dated 23.8.2015 justifying ban on pornography. The Government first banned 657 websites, terming their contents as ‘immoral’ and ‘indecent’, but later on unblocked those, which do not feature child porn. In my opinion, the Government should have been bold enough and struck to its original decision. The basic issue is that whether the elected Government should decide its policy, including what is moral and immoral, or it is the Judiciary to decide and impose its decision on the Government. Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship as mentioned in the Constitution does not include liberty to spread vulgarity, immorality and obscenity. Certainly, the Government must exercise its power to decide its policy on unethical practices on not only websites, but also on films, TV channels, print media etc. The Judiciary can be politely told, not to interfere in the policy matters.
