Unprecedented

(Organiser,8.6.2014); Aprops to the cover story ‘UNPRECEDENTED’ in Organiser. By engaging with the leaders of the Saarc countries on his first day of office Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent an unequivocal message about his intention of forging and deepening bilateral relations with the neighbours. The message that comes out loud and clear is that pragmatism and not hawkishness will guide the country’s foreign policy. While it is good that foreign secretary level talks between India and Pakistan will resume, we should emphasise the need to revive the composite dialogue process aimed at resolving all contentious issues between our nations. Though Pakistan has not walked the talk on its promises of bringing perpetrators of terror to justice, that should not deter our continuous engagement with the country. It is time that Prime Ministers of both the countries should walk the extra mile and take concrete steps to usher in an era of permanent peace, stability and development between the two countries.

Kindly keep promises

Promises made by NaMo in the name of development, good governance and stability must be fulfilled in the coming days as his election victory was totally based on the anti-Congress wave in the country. Other than tackling the country’s internal problems , we have to see how he is going to handle the foreign policy particularly with Pakistan and China.

World should wake up to global Jihad?

(Organiser, 13.7.2014); In the article ‘World should wake up to global jihad ‘by Shri Anandshankar Pandya in Organiser, the writer has rightly asked how the world is going to tackle this conflict hovering over its head . As of late the Jihadis are unfurling their black flags slowly and steadily in the Middle East sweeping away borders and their presence in Iraq , Jordan and Syria, etc., is to establish a new Islamic Caliphate. A wave of intolerance, instability and religious extremism has come in to force. It is said that Saudi Arabia is funding to spread Wahhabism. How far is it true ?Don’t they realise that the hands that feed terrorism will itself be destroyed and their oil wealth will no longer be theirs. These fanatics who have their own interpretation of Quran, through mosques and madrasas are teaching youngsters to take up arms instead of educating them. These terrorists will stretch their tainted hands towards other countries especially India where already Indian Mujahideen has raised its hydra head .Religious extremism and violent perverted minds will tear Bharat’s oneness and unity. This will spread unless and until strong action is taken and instill in their minds that they have on their own chosen to live in Bharat and must respect the laws of our country.

Stop gruesome crimes in UP

With UP’s law and order situation at an all time low, it is important for the government to step in and act. Unfortunately , hasn’t happened yet .It is a tragedy that those in power are dawdling and dismissing dastardly crimes as trivial acts. Only strong deterrent action will ensure an end to these atrocities. This can happen only when the attitude of men who run the State changes for better. Criminals have flourished for long only because of the casual and negligent attitude towards their crimes by the top authorities . It is high time that UP government should take up initiative and act firmly to put an end to gruesome acts in the State . Otherwise murders and crimes against women will continue and even increase .
