Car Menace in India

(Organiser, 29.6.2014); This refers to ‘Car Menace in India’ by Sanjay Maheshwari in Organiser. Various aspects of growing requirement of road travel, use of cars, loss of lives and man-hours, effect of stress have been nicely discussed. I would like to add a few more points, to reduce requirement of road travel and to reduce loss of life and loss of man- hours, etc. Firstly people should be encouraged to live nearest to their place of work. Tenancy laws should be made simple so that one owing a house at far off places may give his own house on rent and take rented accommodation close to his place of work. Government too should adopt the policy of posting its employees nearest to his home. Government offices should be made to work efficiently so that public is not required to personally go to the offices to get their work done. Courts and judiciary should be made to realise that litigants have to travel large distances to reach courts and thus they should not postpone and fix next date of hearing in casual manner and give quick judgments. Car loans should be banned. Government has given great boost to consumption of alcohol which is the root cause of road accidents.

Hindi an imposition, but not English

(Organiser, 6.7.2014); This refers to the article titled ‘ Hindi an imposition, but not English’ by Dr M Rama Jois in Organiser. I agree to his viewpoints on the importance of Hindi language as national language. Since India has no linking language, Hindi can be made as national language, since majority of the Indian population speak Hindi and it is derived directly from our mother language ‘Sanskrit’ which is shared even by regional languages in a big way. Late Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru had said that as long as English will prevail in India, Hindi will be the national language of our country .Then why unnecessary make a hue and cry about it and create unrest in the country? It is a wrong notion that development and promotion of Hindi in our country will spoil the interest of the regional languages. In fact, it was Central Government who introduced the concept of ‘Three Language Formula’ in every State. But unfortunately states like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and few among North-East India had opposed it. It is high time that India should have an official language or else it will be a national and international shame that even after seven decades of having Independence we are quarrelling over the issue of language.

Why Pakistanis Complains

The Pakistanis complain against the Hindus having aspiration for Akhand Bharat (United India). We can also complain against Pakistanis aspiration to convert Dar-ul-Harab that is India into Dar-ul-Islam through jihad. India and Pakistan fought four wars and in all the cases the aggressor was Pakistan. It was trying to fulfil its aspiration to convert Dar-ul-Harab to Dar-ul-Islam through jihad. Is this aspirations indigenous to the Indian sub-continent? No, as Islam and its aspirations were created seeing the Arabic environment. Aspiration of Akhand Bharat is based on Hindus devotion towards 12 Jyotir Lingas, 4 Dhams and 52 Shakti Peetas. To my knowledge out of the 52 Shakti Peetas some Shakti Peetas are in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka. So Hindus aspiration for Akhand Bharat is valid compared to Pakistan’s aspiration of converting Dar-ul-Harab to Dar-ul-Islam through jihad whose aspiration is based on narration in Koran which is in Arabic language and for Arabic ethos not an aspiration born for Indian sub-continent.

Modi on right track

(Organiser, 13.7.2014); This is with reference to the article ‘ Modi on right track’ by Shri M V Kamath in Organiser. By selecting Bhutan for his first foreign visit P M Narendra Modi has sent a broad message that the new government in New Delhi gives great importance to building relationships with neighbouring countries .This is not only to ensure peace in the subcontinent but springs from the new PM’s convection that mutually rewarding ties between South Asian nations can alone allow New Delhi to pursue its economic, political and strategic objectives beyond the region. Let us hope that the PM’s extremely productive and satisfying visit to Bhutan becomes a stepping stone for building good relationship with all are other neighbours, like Nepal.
